Account settings
Update your profile, change your password, and switch between light and dark themes.
Your account settings live under your avatar in the sidebar and are split across three pages. Profile is where you change your name and email. Password is where you rotate your password (it requires your current password as a confirmation step, which catches the case where someone walks away from an unlocked screen). Appearance lets you switch between light, dark, and system themes, with system following whatever your operating system is set to.
- 1Profile: your name and email address.
- 2Password: rotate it, with your current password required as confirmation.
- 3Appearance: light, dark, or follow the system.
- 4Changing your email sends a verification link to the new address before it takes effect.
- 5Deleting the account removes every test, run, and integration. It cannot be undone.
Changing your email
Email changes need verification. If you change your address, Testsnag will send a verification link to the new address, and the change becomes active only when you click it. The old address remains valid until verification completes, so you cannot accidentally lock yourself out by typing the new address wrong. Notification integrations that route by email continue to use whichever address is currently active.
Deleting your account
Account deletion is also available from the Profile page, but it is a permanent action. Deleting an account removes every test, run, integration, file, suite, and schedule attached to it. The dialog asks you to confirm explicitly before going through, and the action cannot be undone afterwards. If you are deleting because of billing concerns rather than wanting to leave entirely, downgrading to the free tier is almost always the better option, since it preserves all of your work in case you come back later.
