TestSnag vs BugBug
BugBug is a solid codeless recorder for web apps. TestSnag covers web, API, SEO and native mobile tests in one workspace, writes steps from plain language, and imports your BugBug tests in a few clicks.

BugBug details are taken from bugbug.io and docs.bugbug.io as of October 2026 and may have changed since.
[ 02 ] Switching
Bring your existing tests instead of recording them again.
Download a single test as YAML, or export the whole project as a ZIP to bring your components too.
Open Tests, choose Import from BugBug and preview every test, step and component before anything is created.
Your selectors carry over as they are, components become reusable blocks, and every step is ready to run.
Yes. Export a test as YAML or your whole project as a ZIP and upload it from the Tests page. Clicks, typing, navigation, hovers, scrolls, selects, prompts and most assertions come across, and BugBug components become TestSnag blocks.
Steps TestSnag has no equivalent for yet: multiple tabs, iframes, drag and drop, double and right clicks, visual regression, conditional steps and custom JavaScript. The import preview lists every skipped step so you can rebuild it.
Yes. TestSnag runs on Playwright, which understands the XPath and CSS selectors BugBug records. Steps also carry a plain-language description, so the runner can still find the element if a selector breaks.
Web tests run in a hosted Chromium browser, the same engine as Chrome and Edge. BugBug is also Chromium only.
BugBug does not export secret values. Imported steps that used one are flagged, so you can store the value as a TestSnag secret variable.
Import your BugBug tests and add API, SEO and mobile coverage in the same workspace.
